Our Story
In early April 2023, I sat alone in a hotel room in Portland, Maine, eating pizza and staring out the window. I had just attended a weekend retreat for women entrepreneurs, and one thought wouldn’t leave me: so many of the women I’d met told me they wanted to write a book.
Sharing their writing dreams wasn’t random. I had written and fully self-published my own memoir a couple of years earlier. With no prior self-publishing experience, I wrote, edited, formatted, designed the cover, and published my book all in 10 months. I had attended this entrepreneur’s retreat with no actual business in the works. Just my published book, I knew I could market better, and a desire to build something that made a difference.
Throughout that weekend, each woman quietly shared with me what they would write their book about, followed immediately by all the reasons they could never actually do it. I wanted to grab them each by the shoulders, look them square in the eyes, and (lovingly) shout: YOU CAN WRITE THAT BOOK!
As I grabbed another slice of pizza from the box, I said out loud to myself, “Maybe that’s my business. Maybe I should help women write and publish books.”
Without much hesitation, I was buying the domain, making logos, and telling everyone who would listen… Big Time Publishing was open and ready to help you publish your book.
Your book is more than words on a page
it’s service, connection, and legacy in motion.
Our mission is simple:
Make writing and publishing attainable for every woman who dreams of it.
We help good-hearted women share their stories, experiences, expertise, and wisdom through self-publishing. We teach our clients everything we know so they don’t need us forever. Though many stay because the experience is transformational.
We live this mission in how we operate: fully customized services. We offer as little or as much support as you desire.
Meet our Founder
Hi, I’m Jessi.
Millenial. Middle child. Enneagram 2. I am a mother of two, wife, Hanson (yes, MMMBop Hanson) & Gilmore Girls enthusiast, amateur roller skater, and self-published author. I live for a good crafting session and am willing to try (almost) anything at least once.
My work is faith-rooted and future-focused. I view storytelling as both healing and expansion. I trust that when a woman answers the call to share her words, it doesn’t just change her life. It changes families, communities, and generations. I know the greatest impact I can have in this world is helping as many women as possible share their work.
I adore writing YA, specifically middle-grade stories, leading young readers to find their own faith by learning to listen to their intuition in a world that begs them to follow everyone else.
I bring my personal core values of excite, uplift, guide, and serve into every aspect of Big Time Publishing.
